Osprey is a named area in un-incorporated Sarasota County. Originally settled in the mid-1800's. Located west of Interstate 75 and along route 41 this area has numerous quality housing developments. This location is conveniently located for shopping, beaches, boating, golf, and the best Sarasota has to offer. The south east corner of Osprey is the Oscar Scherer State Park which offers around 15 miles of hiking trails through an upland scrub environment. Located on little Sarasota Bay Historic Spanish Point, with a museum and nature trails.
The biggest development in Osprey is the exclusive luxury Golf and Country Club Community of The Oaks. Just to the north of Blackburn road you'll find the communities of Bay Acres, and Hidden Bay.
